The future of TFC: The Fertile Crescent

Hi! We have some exciting news to share with you all!

Firstly, thanks for taking an interest in and playing TFC: The Fertile Crescent. This community has consistently been nice and supportive to both us and other players, and we really appreciate that.

We are really excited to share with you that TFC will be leveling up from a hobby project to a full time job for us thanks to a publishing deal we signed earlier this year. You might’ve noticed that the recent updates have been a bit more substantial than previous ones. This is all thanks to the publisher who has helped us with TFC in all kinds of ways. A great example of this, and perhaps most obvious to players, is the art they’ve provided for the new Wonder building.

Our goal for TFC was always to release it on Steam one day, and with the help from our publisher, we’ll be able to get there sooner and with a higher quality product.

However, this means that we will eventually have to stop focusing on the current version of the game, so we can start focusing on the commercial version, and so the next update to the itch.io version will be the last for now. It will of course still be available to download and play, and we will continue supporting it with bug fixes and balance changes if necessary, but it will be the last feature update. This will allow us to focus on the content that will go into the full version.

Being able to work full time on our own RTS game has long been our dream, and we’ve got big plans for the full version of TFC, with interesting single player content, graphical upgrades, as well as new mechanics and units.

We really hope you all will come with us to Steam as well, when the page is up in a couple of weeks, and that you wishlist the game. Wishlisting the game will benefit us greatly with regards to discoverability, which again helps to grow the community. We’ll let you know as soon as the Steam page is up!

We are here to answer any questions you might have, in the comments section here or in our Discord channel.
