0.6.0.2 - Self-update launcher
Auto patching launcher
Since we started patching the game more rapidly with smaller change logs, we understand that it's hard to keep up with the updates, and that it becomes tedious to manually download the game for every update. Therefore, we've added a launcher that self-updates the game. Now you only need to download the game client once from itch.io.
Other benefits are that you will only download the changes between patches, so this saves bandwidth for you. We also save time since we from now on can one-click updates for each platform, instead of manually zipping and uploading to itch.io like we've used to.
We've changed the version numbering system to accommodate the patcher.
Added South America as multiplayer region
This community request means that if you're in South America you can now play with your friends with better latency.
macOS is gone!?
We need to notarize the game with an Apple Developer account to make sure the new game launcher works, so that you don't get "file can't be opened" error message, and so that you don't have to follow a multiple steps guide to bypass the error message and be able to open the game. We are seeking to notarize the game soon.

Will investigate. Are you able to start the game the first time you open the launcher, or does it happen straight away?
No, the game don't start aftert. And i detected other bug, the updater download the files inside a new folder The Fertile Crescent_Data inside The Fertile Crescent_Data/ (The Fertile Crescent_Data/The Fertile Crescent_Data/)
Thanks for sharing! We've submitted a ticket to the developers of the patcher system. Hopefully we can come up with a fix for this soon. It works perfectly fine on Windows and macOS.
I download and start the game on Linux, but the game is crashed after check updates:
Set current directory to /media/1tb/Juegos/the-fertile-crescent
Found path: /media/1tb/Juegos/the-fertile-crescent/The Fertile Crescent.x86_64
xdg-open: unexpected option '--args'
Try 'xdg-open --help' for more information.
We are launching a new version of the updater for Linux later today that sets the necessary permissions automatically. However, the newest version of the game has a problem on Linux, where the sound system crashes, so we are investigating this as well.
The Linux patcher is up and running, but the game is still broken for Linux users. FMOD, the music system we're using, has a bug with the version of Unity we're using for Linux, and they have fixed it in their newest version. We're going to upgrade the the newest FMOD version tomorrow and will upload a new Linux build then.
Awesome work, the self-updating is a big idea
