0.6.5.8 - Balance changes


First, we would like to congratulate Nown0 for winning the first Crescent Cup!

Crescent Cup was invaluable to us, as we were able to spectate and take notes from 4 hours of multiplayer gameplay. It was a lot of fun to see all the different strategies and playstyles.

For the most part, we feel the game is fairly balanced (especially villagers, light axemen and slingers), but there is definitely room for improvements. We have gone through community feedback, our own notes, done battle-tests, and from this made changes that we're excited to see how plays out!

Change log 0.6.5.8

General balance changes
- Tree harvest difficulty is 75 (from 60)
- Advanced Woodcutting increases chopping speed by 60% (from 50%)
- Advanced Mining increases mining speed by 60% (from 50%)
 
Unit balance changes
- Bowman costs 25 food and 35 wood to train (from 35 food and 15 wood)
- Javelinman costs 25 food and 35 wood to train (from 25 food and 15 wood)
- Javelinman base ranged attack damage is 12 (from 13)
- Heavy Spearman costs 35 food and 20 wood (from 35 food and 15 wood)
- Heavy axeman has 170 health (from 150)
- Heavy spearman has 160 health (from 170)
- Bowman attack speed ratio is 1.25s (from 1.5s)
- Villager attack speed ratio is 1.25s (from 1.5s)
- Swordsman has 250 health (from 230)

Building balance changes
- Archery costs 90 bricks and 20 wood (from 80 bricks and 30 wood)
- Watchtower costs 40 bricks and 20 wood (from 60 bricks and 10 wood)
- Furnace costs 75 bricks and 50 wood (from 100 bricks and 50 wood)

Bug fixes
- When moving away from building placed upon them units will now consider moving to farm locations
- When moving away from building placed upon them units will no longer consider locations occupied by battering rams
